Kenya: That women leaders clamour to control 0.5 per cent of budgetary allocation in counties means well for development among our young women and the youth.
Since we accepted leadership from women and elected them through fair and democratic process, there is nothing barring them from being tasked to control funds.
Politics should be put on hold when it comes to matters geared towards nation building through empowering youths and women — after all we mandated them with leadership so why can’t they control funds? Men leaders has been controlling most of these funds and the results have been corruption, embezzlement of funds and misuse.
Given a chance, women can turn around this country’s history. We should encourage our own and give them the mantle.
