Nakuru, Kenya: Rift Valley took a lion’s share of top one hundred slots in the just released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results.
The region scooped 36 positions among the top one hundred schools, cementing its position as home of champions in national examinations. Moi High School Kabarak led the way followed by Kapsabet, Molo Academy and St Anthony’s Boys High School in Kitale.
Kabarak was also ranked second nationally with a mean score of 79.862, a slight improvement from Last year’s 78.859 where it emerged top school nationally.
It was followed closely by Strathmore School with a mean index of 77.060 under the private schools ranking.

The school also produced the best female candidates in the country – Kivuva Angela Nzise – who scored mean graded of 86.983 and was ranked number three nationally.
Students at the institution, which is located along the Eldama Ravine Road, broke into celebrations after the announcement of the results by Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi in Nairobi.
Moi High School Kabarak was ranked top in Nakuru County followed by Molo Academy, which was ranked sixth nationally with a mean index of 77.27. Students at Molo Academy join teachers in celebrating their win at the institutions.
Kapsabet Boys from Nandi County was ranked fourth nationally with a mean index of 79.062, and was ranked second under the national schools category.
Little-known school
St Brigid’s Kiminini from Trans Nzoia on the other hand was took position nine among the top schools nationally.
Nakuru Girls High School and Utumishi Boys’ Academy were ranked 16th and 18th respectively in the national schools category.
A little know private school in Lanet Anester Boys’ High School posted good results for the second year running, emerging position 14th nationally with a mean score of 75.128.
In Kericho County, Moi Tea Girls Secondary School was ranked 19th nationally with a mean index of 73.962, emerging top in the county.
