Private and public organisations in Kenya have launched a Sh50 million fund aimed at raising awareness on early detection and management of cancer.
The initiative under the Kenya Medical Association (KMA) will be used to mobilise resources for an awareness campaign and management of cancer.
“We call upon all the remaining private and public organisations in Kenya to use their roles in society and lead in cancer awareness efforts,” Ben Githuku, the Communications Commission of Kenya chairman said while presenting Sh250,000 to KMA at a Nairobi hotel.
The initiative dubbed “The Kenyan Corporate Declaration Against Cancer” was launched at a Nairobi hotel during the World Cancer Day yesterday.
