Embu, Kenya: South Imenti MP Kathuri Murungi sustained minor bruises after his vehicle was involved in an accident at Mufu area of Embu East district, along the Embu-Meru highway.
His vehicle rolled several times and landed in a valley, 30 metres away from the road during the Friday accident.
Area police boss Njoroge Mbugua said the MP, who was traveling to Meru, was in the company of his body guard, while the other car which was heading towards Embu had two occupants.
"The vehicles collided at the sharp bend leading Murungi’s driver to lose control and veer off the road. The vehicle hit and went over the rail guards, rolled several times before being stopped by a tree stump”, Mbugua said.

“They just suffered slight injuries. We urge drivers to be careful when approaching the scene,” Mbugua added.
The MP and his colleagues were rushed to a Nairobi hospital for treatment while the occupants of the other vehicle, a man and his wife, were treated at Kyeni mission hospital and discharged.
Mbugua said they have launched investigations establish the cause of the accident.
