Nairobi, Kenya: A suspected terrorist has been accused in a Nairobi court of giving false information to the Anti-terrorism Police Unit.
Peter Wango’ndu Kiambati appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Melisa Opondo accused that on Janaury 24 at ATPU headquarters, with intent to mislead a police officer, knowingly made a false statement to Corporal Ali Bakari that he had information about Al-Shabaab and Al-Qaeda operatives in Somalia and Iraq respectively, a fact he knew to be false.
However, the court declined to allow the accused to take his plea until a medical report is availed in court.
During the mention of the case yesterday, Kiambati told court that he has been tortured by police yet he had volunteered to give information on terrorism.

The case will be mentioned on Febraury 5.
The accused stunned many when he surrendered to police in Nyahururu claiming he had crucial information on Al-Qaeda and Al-Shabaab operations both within and outside the country.
