The bitter rivalry between the two played out openly on Mashujaa Day held at the stadium when Gitari and his supporters stormed out of the venue as Ndathi was making his speech.
The heckling supporters of the MP followed him to the corner of the stadium where he started addressing them while Ndathi was left at the dais with senior civil servants and his equal number of supporters.
Arising from the incident, the County celebrations organising committee decided that its celebration be held at the County headquarters in Kutus town.
