MOMBASA, KENYA: After a lengthy discussion and consultations between CECAFA organizing committee and Mombasa County government, it is now confirmed that Mombasa County will host CECAFA Senior challenge Cup in Mombasa on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December 2013.
The green light to host matches came after Mombasa County agreed to meet all expenses of the participating teams which includes air tickets, accommodation, security and give Kshs. 3 million to the Local Organizing Committee to offset some of the bills incurred.
Appreciating the efforts by Mombasa County, Local Organizing Committee thanked the Governor for his support of the tournament. “We wish to thank the Governor of Mombasa County for supporting the federation on this very important tournament,” stated a release of the Local Organizing Committee.
Teams will start arriving in Mombasa on Friday 6th December 2013.
