At least three people are feared dead following fresh clashes between members of Borana and Gabra communities in Moyale.
The Friday clashes happened at Funan-nyatta area, about 35 kilometres from Moyale town.
Moyale deputy County Commissioner Raphael Muiruri said three people were killed in the clashes.
“We are yet to establish the motive of the clashes, but investigations are ongoing,” said the administrator.
He said more security personnel have been deployed and the situation is under control.
Muiruri urged locals to maintain calm and preach peace as the security personnel handle the matter.
Area County Representative Golicha Galgallo condemned the incident and appealed to residents to maintain calm as the government investigates the matter.
Meanwhile, residents attacked a lorry heading to Moyale town and looted property of an unknown value.
Muiruri said two people were injured in the attack incident that occurred a few kilometres from the scene of the clashes.
According to Muiruri, two other passengers who were travelling in the vehicle were reported missing.
