Kisumu County: A 76-year-old woman was found burnt beyond recognition in her home in Konywera village, Kisumu County.
The cause of the Saturday night fire could not be told. It is reported that the late Pelista Ooro Ragot had retired to bed at around 9pm.
The woman was staying with 19- year-old Esther Anyango, who was nursing her.
Anyango said she had done her chores as usual at the Ragot’s home and they even had supper together before she left for her home, a few metres away.

“I left at around nine and locked the door from outside, the way mama used to tell me to do,” said Anyango. She was later woken up from her home that her employer’s house was on fire.
The deceased’s daughter-in-law, Joan Ngesa said the fire was so enormous that they could only watch helplessly as the woman’s house went up in flames.
