Local publishers have been challenged to take advantage of cutting-edge printing technology to improve their books quality.
"Ours is the most versatile high speed full-colour printing machine in East Africa and we are proud to be the chosen training destination for KBA products in the region," said Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) Managing Director Eve Obara.
Obara was speaking at KLB Headquarters when she addressed participants at a printing seminar, organised by Germany’s Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) in conjunction with their local agent, Gazelle Ltd.
She outlined the exotic potentials of the KBA Rapida 105 printing press, which the bureau acquired from Germany last year.

The workshop brought together printers from East Africa, who got an opportunity to experience and acquire knowledge on emerging cut-edge technology in the print industry.
Sascha Fischer, the KBA sales engineer responsible for Africa and Europe, challenged printers in the region "to always keep their eyes and ears open for new opportunities in print technology."
"Don’t be afraid, go for it. Enhance relationships and find right partners in printing technology," he advised.
Some of the unique features of the Rapida105 include its remote diagnosis and maintenance system, which allows online error diagnosis and rectification and high performance driers that make it ideal for both conventional and UV applications.
