The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is investigating alleged irregular procurement of services at the Homa Bay County Assembly.
In a letter addressed to acting County Assembly Clerk Daniel Kaudo, the anti-graft body is seeking information on 11 companies that bid for tenders in the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 financial years.
The letter is signed by EACC Deputy Director of Forensic Investigation John Loikolo.
EACC wants Mr Kaudo to provide it with the names of company directors, their phone numbers, and physical and postal addresses. The bidders are expected to be grilled by detectives before recording statements.
This is EACC's second investigation of the Homa Bay County Assembly. In the first matter, seven former and current officials are being investigated over alleged embezzlement of Sh27.8 million during the 2014/2016 and 2016/2017 financial years.

The money is suspected to have been mismanaged after being purportedly paid to facilitate travel allowances and conference accommodation for members of the county assembly and county staff.
Majority Leader Walter Muok and fellow ward representatives welcomed the anti-graft body's investigation into alleged financial irregularities in the assembly.
