Nyeri is known as the home between water towers providing the perfect place to unwind with its incredible weather and serenity. Its strategic location between the Aberdares and Mount Kenya often earns it a large share of both local and international tourists.

More and more people are slowly moving from renting hotel rooms to the renting of apartments. In a trend that has been growing throughout the country Mpeta boasts of being the only such facility in Nyeri town.

Situated in the outskirts of Nyeri town about four kilometres from the town centre on the Nyeri-Nanyuki highway is the luxury residential complex that has sought to make unwinding for travellers and visitors a homely experience.

Mpeta hosts 12 apartments for hire by people staying away from home but who seek to feel at home. Imprinted on their sign-post are the words ‘exquisite hospitality’ and Mpeta offers nothing short of this.

Inside there is a large parking lot enough for 20 cars. There is also a space cut out where a tent is pitched occasionally to act as a mobile restaurant.  The hallways are lined with plants complementing the orange and brown theme of the exterior of the building. In order to incorporate the style and preferences of as many people as possible the apartments have different designs for every room.

Every house has a balcony overlooking the beautiful scenery that surrounds the area. The furniture is matched with the colour of the paint on the wall as well as the carpets.

This extends to the bathrooms and toilets. The rooms comprise of one and two bedroom houses. All the beds are six by six in size with white beddings for each. Also in each bedroom is a wardrobe varying from inbuilt ones to some placed

in strategic places in the room. Also present is a dressing table and full length mirrors. Bathroom and toilets range from those combined into one to others separated; with a sink right outside the two.

In each apartment there is a tastefully furnished kitchen which has a gas cooker, utensils, a fridge, an electric cooker and a microwave. It also overlooks the balcony giving one a wonderful view of Nyeri town as they prepare their meals.

The living room is to behold containing a set of luxury coaches, a flat screen television connected to DSTV and beautiful carpets. Even the TV stand and coffee table complement the furniture in the room.  Mpeta caters for variety of taste and one has an array of choices to make. From one bedroom apartments with no wall between the bedroom and the living room to those with distinct walls separating the two, to two bed roomed houses with a hallway Mpeta provides all these and more.

Tastefully done

The stairway leading to the two storey apartment  has beautiful lights. Once at the top one is met by a golden chandelier that provides the main light for the stairway as well as gives aesthetic beauty.

Mpeta leaves nothing to chance with curtain holders tastefully made not only for the purpose of holding curtains but also appealing to the eye. Huge windows ensure that enough sunlight gets to the room during the day.

Visitors can bring their own food but for those who do not want to cook outside catering is organised for them.  The two floor apartments have a spectacular view of Mt Kenya from the balconies where one can unwind.

It is also located in a serene and quiet neighbourhood of Garden estate that ensures one is away from the hustles of the town but is within the reach of a place to get basic amenities such as food, medical care and ease of transport.

To rent an apartment at Mpeta costs one Sh6,000 per night for a one bed roomed apartment and Sh8,000 for a two bed roomed apartment. The prices are however subject to discounts for those staying for long periods of time.
