Kenyan musician Vivianne Kenya this week said she does not believe in Christianity and claimed it is a cult.

Through a video on her TikTok page, the singer said she was coerced into being a Christian and the foundation of Christianity is control.

"The foundation of Christianity is control and fear...it is living your life, your whole existence out of a book.

"All your choices, everything about who you are being determined by one book and someone can hate you, condemn you, ostracize you, belittle you, dehumanize you and justify all of these things to this one book, which they call the Holy Book," she said.

Vivianne said she believes in the power of human souls and creativity, and that we are part of a bigger world where we are all connected.

She added humans are powerful in the sense that internally they hold a god in each one of them.

The singer claimed the Bible looks at women as an afterthought because it says man was created first and the woman was created to serve man.

"That same book says in Him I live, I move and I have my being but the book makes women an afterthought.

"Yet it is the woman who creates and carries life in her body. So at what point do we then say that this one book has the right to govern all our lives? It does not," she said.

Vivianne likened Christianity to a disease that brainwashes its followers and empowers a few people at the expense of others.

She said humans hold the power to create, elevate and speak light and love and those actions cannot be restricted to a book.

The singer also shed light on her Bible school experience terming it 'dreadful'. She also spoke about her previous relationship with a 'kingdom ambassador' saying the level of manipulation was extreme.

"Christianity is a cult. They do not care about you. Lose your money a little bit, hold people accountable and they will not want you there.

"Tell me if you can question the church. If you can hold anyone in the church accountable...most likely not. Find your voice, find your power," she said.
