He was produced in court a day after he surrendered himself to the police in Naivasha, more than 100km from the scene of the alleged crime.

But the murder charge was not read to him as investigation has not been concluded. A charge information document prepared by the Director of Public Prosecutions indicates, however, he will be facing a murder charge.

The accused was remanded at Kileleshwa Police Station after his lawyer asked for transfer from Buruburu Police Station, which is investigating the case.

Kabiru who was found dead in her bedroom several hours after the murder will be buried at the Langata cemetery in Nairobi today.

A postmortem examination carried on her body on Tuesday established that she died out of trauma that was caused by a blunt object that was hit on her head.

A relative who attended the exercise at the mortuary said Kabiru had a crack on her skull. The exercise also established marks on her neck.

The body was found covered on her bed long after she had died. Dola told his friends at the court and Buruburu Police Station they had differed with her wife and fought, leading to the death.

He added that Kabiru may have knocked herself against the bed as they fought over a domestic dispute and he escaped from the house to evade the fight. Police recorded statements from him.
