Athletics Kenya (AK) presented Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed with design papers for 2025 bid to hold the World Athletics Championships.
AK senior vice president Paul Mutwii confirmed they had presented the necessary documentation and design to the Ministry of Sports.
Mutwii, who was speaking when he visited the cross country camp in Kigari Teachers College in Embu, said in 2017 Kenya hosted the Under-18 World Championships and the country showed capabilities in hosting world sporting events.
Mutwii said Kenya should also try to bid for the second biggest athletics event after Olympics that is the World Athletics Championships in 2025.
"We are now very busy as a Federation and very much backed by the Ministry of Sports trying to synthesize and come up with a paper which was presented to the Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohamed by our very own president Rt Gen Jackson Tuwei,” Mutwii noted.
