President William Ruto has appointed Mount Kenya University (MKU) chairperson Simon Gicharu to be the next chairperson of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).

Gicharu's term will be three years long effective from October 13, 2023; he will replace Professor Elishiba Njambi Kimani whose appointment was revoked.

His appointment at the Water Services Regulatory Board was revoked.

Ruto also appointed former Taita Taveta MP Naomi Shaban chairperson of the Tobacco Control Board for a period of two years and revoked the appointment of Dr Khama Rogo.

He also appointed Job Chirchir to be the new Water Services Regulatory Board chairperson, he will replace Gicharu.

Chirchir's appointment at the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) was revoked and he will now chair the Water board for a period of three years.

The President also appointed Titus Kipkoech Korir to be the chairperson of KFS for a period of three years, he replaces Chirchir.

Interior CS Professor Kithure Kindiki appointed Jubilee chairperson Nelson Dzuya to be a member of the Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Board, where he will serve for a period of three years.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu appointed Joel Kibe to the University of Nairobi Council, where he will serve for three years.

Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi appointed Zakayo Maina to be a member of the Pyrethrum Processing Company Board for a period of three years.

Maina's appointment as a member of the KFS board was revoked by Environment CS Soipan Tuya who replaced him with Jane Simita Munka.

Former Kitutu Chache MP Jimmy Angwenyi has been appointed chairperson of the National Heroes Council and Gitu Kahengeri to be a member of the council for a period of three years by Gender CS Aisha Jumwa.

Energy CS Davis Chirchir appointed Jane Cheptoo Masai to be a member of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority board for a period of three.

Treasury CS Professor Njuguna Ndung'u revoked the appointment of Stephen Lmosta Lekupe and Erastus Kimuri as members of the Kenya Trade Network Agency Board.

He also appointed George Okeyo to be a member of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis board for a period of three years.
