A Mexican drug lord, described as El Chapo's successor, has taken violence in the country to the next level.
Cartel boss Nemesio Cervantes has allegedly ordered the murder of pregnant women and babies as part of the ongoing drug wars in Mexico.
Last month, 44 missing people, many of whom were women, were found dead in a well in Jalisco state, Mexico, The Sun reports.
The discovery was made in the heartland of the CJNG's territory and came about after locals noticed a foul smell coming from the well.
The victims' bodies were stuffed into 119 black bags.
The CJNG's methods are brutal even by Mexican standards, where cartels engage in beheadings and torture.
Murdering women was previously forbidden under cartel code, however the CJNG has abandoned this unwritten rule.
