Kenya Ports Authority has waived fee charged on rent charged on cargo which have overstayed in its warehouses.

KPA announced this move through a notice on Friday on national dailies that waiver of storage charges and customs warehouse rent on long stay cargo at the port of Mombasa and the inland contained depot in Nairobi had been effected.

Partnering with Kenya Revenue Authority, KPA notified its port customers and stakeholders that the waiver will cater for cargo that had stayed for 21 days at an extension period of 14 days effective from Friday.
