Four people have been killed by suspected Al-Shabaab militia in Hindi, Lamu County.
This prompted protests from locals over the slow response by security agents.
The occurrence follows a similar incident in the area where three people were killed after Al Shabaab militants attacked a passenger bus and a car at Nyongoro area in Witu, Lamu County.
The attack happened on the Lamu-Garsen highway, police said. Four other people were left with serious bullet injuries.
The area has seen an increase in attacks in the past weeks leaving at least 20 people dead.
A major operation is ongoing in the area.
