President Uhuru together with his Deputy William Ruto recently made massive campaigns in the vote rich Western Kenya.

Two weeks ago Uhuru was at Port Victoria as they pitch for their re-election, highlighting their development agenda to the residents of Busia County.

They headed to Funyula, Bumala, Matayos and Nambale before winding up the campaigns in Amagoro and Labour Party leader who is supporting Uhuru for a second term was a point man in the region.

Surprisingly, the when the President was addressing a public rally at Bumala, on mention of Ababu Namwamba, the locals seemingly refused to accord the MP a chance to address them humiliating him in the eyes of the head of state.

The President had to intervene to quell the anti-Namwamba chants that flared the air.

The National Super Alliance could give the ‘Generali’ more shake as they are set to continue with its Western Kenya tour after spending much time wooing voters in Mudavadi’s backyard Vihiga County.

The leaders have lined up as series of rallies in the County and have apparently devised a mechanism of splitting their trail so us to reach more people over a short time.

Raila will lead vote hunt Port Victoria, Ganga, Sio Port, Funyula and Bumala among others while Kalonzo Musyoka will conduct rallies in Changara, Moding, Angurai, Malaba, Simba Chai and Nambale.

The two will then meet for a major rally at Busia stadium.

Over the weekend, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Charity Ngilu campaigned in Sabatia while Raila traversed Luanda areas as he approached Mbale where they converged and addressed a major rally on Saturday evening.


Namwamba who served as ODM party secretary general left the party for his own outfit that he is striving make firmly felt on the ground but NASA candidates in the region have vowed to remain united so as to capture a majority seats in August.
