A few months after finalising her divorce from Gardner G Habash, Tanzanian singer Lady Jaydee has revealed her new man.
Jaydee is dating Nigerian musician and producer Chibuikem Nwanegbo aka Spicy.
She introduced her man officially during the East Africa TV Awards in Tanzania.
Jaydee exclusively revealed to Heads Up that she met Spicy in South Africa and they hit it off immediately.
“We exchanged contacts and started chatting about music and our personal lives,” Jaydee said.
The couple who have been dating for months now recorded and shot a video together for the song, Together in Zanzibar.
Jaydee claims that her new-found love has given her inspiration to write new music.
Asked if he is with Jaydee for fame, Spicy who has worked closely with Nigerian superstar Flavour as his band leader and producer, revealed that he had not heard of the singer before.
“When I met her, I didn’t even know that she was a big star. Not every Nigerian is up to mischief,” Spicy told Heads Up. He also dismissed rumours that he could have used juju to get Jaydee to love her.
“Rumour has it that East Africa has the most voodoo,” he jokingly said.
Spicy grew up in Kenya between 1990 and 1994.
“My father was a clergyman and we stayed on Ngong Road. I actually went to Forest View Academy. That time, I learnt Swahili but eventually forgot it,” he added.
