Having had enough of the union, Jaydee filed for divorce in 2014 from her husband and then manager Gardner Habash. The two had been married for 9 years.
A court in Sar es Salaam finally granted them the divorce last week.
At a past interview with EveWoman, the singer admitted that music kept her going when her marriage was sinking.
“Not that the whole institution has problems. It is only my marriage that didn’t work. It was not for me. I can’t speak for other marriages though,” she says.
