| David Beckham and his son Brooklyn have reportedly been involved in a car crash |
Former England captain David Beckham has reportedly been injured in a car crash.
The 39-year-old was said to have been involved in the incident after picking his son Brooklyn up from the Arsenal training ground this morning, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The 15-year-old Brooklyn plays for Arsenal's under-16 side, and had been playing against Brighton's under-16s at London Colney in Hertfordshire.
The crash reportedly involved one other vehicle, with one young player claiming David Beckham was injured though not seriously. Father and son were understood to have been in an Audi at the time.
Team-mate Thomas Cadman thought the whole episode was utterly surreal, tweeting: ‘Weird to play against Brooklyn Beckham earlier. Even weirder to be currently stuck behind David Beckham as he has crashed his car.’
Brooklyn was signed by Arsenal on a short-term contract in November. His brother, Romeo, 12, and Cruz, nine, have also been playing for the club’s underage teams.
David Beckham's eldest son was wanted by both Manchester United and Chelsea, but after showing his skills at the Gunners' training ground, he was quickly snapped up until the end of the season.
There is also the potential for a long-term deal for Brooklyn if he continues to shine on the pitch for the under-16s.
