NAKURU COUNTY: A TNA MP from Nakuru has affirmed that Central Kenya will 'fully' support Deputy President William Ruto to be the fifth President come 2022 and dismissed those is doubt.

Nakuru East MP David Gikaria, who was addressing a fundraiser at Angaza SDA church over the weekend, said that just like Kalenjin community Rift Valley voted Uhuru Kenyatta as the President in 2013 general elections, they will vote Ruto.

He said the Deputy President has got what it takes to be the President of this country due to his track-record when he diligently served in Agriculture, Higher education and his current hard work as the Deputy President.

"Some people are claiming that the Kikuyu might not vote Ruto because they have Martha Karua, Peter Kenneth but I can assure you that come 2022, Kikuyu from all corners of this country, will vote Ruto,"said Gikaria.

The legislator's sentiments were echoed by Nakuru Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto who asked the CORD leader Raila Odinga to wait until 2032 when the Deputy President will have completed his term then he 'can' contest.

"We know former Prime Minister is bitter after losing in 2013 general elections but he should wait a little bit longer. Jubilee will rule for 20 years may be he tries in 2032 when Ruto will have completed his term," said Ruto.

The jitters on whether the Kikuyu will return the favour by voting Ruto when his turn comes came into fore recently when the Deputy President's meetings in Central were boycotted by the local MPs.

Ruto attended two functions last week in the largely Jubilee stronghold which have been boycotted by MPs, on claims of local political differences between the hosts and their peers.

Some political commentators sees that TNA MPs could be sending coded messages to Ruto that all was not rosy and that his position of Deputy President does not mean much to them, politically.

Ruto was hosted at Gathiriga AIC church in Gatundu by local MP Moses Kuria but was boycotted by 13 MPs from Kiambu County.
