NAIROBI, KENYA: Senior police officers Kingori Mwangi, Gideon Kimilu and Peter Pamba survived vetting exercise after further investigations found them suitable.

The three had been recalled by the National Police Service Commission pannel after information showed they had more issues to be addressed.

Kingori's issues had to do with his property in Mombasa and his conduct during the first interrogation. Commission chairman Johnston Kavuludi said Kingori had apologized. Kimilu had been recalled over the manner in which he handled drug related cases that he investigated and the source of his wealth while Pamba was to do with money on operations he had allegedly misused. They all defended themselves.

Two senior police officers were sacked last week after being found unsuitable in the ongoing vetting of police.

Mr Philip Tuimur who has been based at police headquarters in Nairobi and Eusebius Laibuta who is charge of senior Administration Police training college in Emali were discontinued from service after being found unsuitable.
