Egyptian vice-president, Mohammed El Baradei has resigned from the interim government following the violence against the protesters.

This is comes after interim President Adly Mansour declared a month-long state of emergency, ordering the armed forces to support the police in efforts to restore law and order and protect state facilities.

"I cannot shoulder responsibility for single drop of blood," Mohamed ElBaradei said in his resignation letter.
Egypt's official news agency says 149 people have been killed in clashes across the nation between supporters of the ousted Islamist president and security forces.
