NAIVASHA, KENYA: Two young people are feared dead after falling into Mt Longonot crater following an attack by a swarm of bees.

An unknown number have been injured, and others are reacting from the bee sting venom. The youth group, from PCEA Kinoo, had gone to visit Mt. Longot for a hiking expedition.

The Kenya Wild Life Service (KWS) was on the scene soon after the accident. They were joined by the Kenya Red Cross Naivasha team who gave first aid to the injured youth.

According to a post on their Facebook page, The Kenya Red Cross said that they have treated the youth for bee stings, minor bruises and cuts which they got while running away from the bees.

The Kenya Red Cross said that the number of youth who attended the hiking trip were 50, and that the KWS is spearheading the rescue efforts of the two who fell into the crater.
