RIFT VALLEY; KENYA: Narc-Kenya presidential flag bearer Martha Karua took her campaigns to Trans-Nzoia County and cautioned Kenyans against electing a corrupt president.
Karua claimed some presidential aspirants are corrupt and unfit to occupy State House, hence voters should reject their bid.
She said some of her competitors could not be trusted with the country’s resources.
“Can you trust a hyena or a fox with your butchery business? The answer is no. This is why I urge you to reject some of the presidential contestants because they their behaviour are that of a hyena,” she said.
Speaking in Kiminini, Karua attributed hard economic times and sufferings experienced by Kenyans to corruption in Government and claimed some presidential candidates are responsible.?
Plea to voters
“Kenyans are facing economic hardship due to corruption. Don’t make a mistake and elect a presidency which will maintain a status quo. We must elect clean leaders,” she urged.
Accompanied by her running mate Augustine Lotodo and Narc-Kenya’s Trans-Nzoia County women representative aspirant Christine Tanguli, Karua said it would be tragic and a waste of time for Kenyans to support leaders with questionable records.
“My fellow country people please don’t make a mistake and suffer another five years. Don’t elect leaders with vested interest. Go for credible leaders like Mama Martha Karua. We need sacrificial, honest and committed personalities,” she said.
She claimed the current inflation and high cost of living were due to poor leadership, arguing she moved out of the Kibaki administration because of high corruption perpetuated by those within the corridors of power.
She said nearly Sh350 billion was being wasted annually to corruption and pledged her government would seal the loopholes.
“My government will not protect public officers who embezzle public coffers: I will deal with them without favour. I will not allow any wastage from budget allocation,” she added.
Karua said she would ensure equitable distribution of resources. She maintained her strong opposition to Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential candidature and asked Kenyans to reject him. “Kenya is a not a shop to be closed for a day for people to go to attend other matters elsewhere. Uhuru and Ruto should not be elected to power,” she said.
