I was recently watching the news and tweeting as usual, some woman was lauding another for her political stance and choice to stand up for election. As she spoke, she mentioned something to the effect that men are useless and will never do anything for women.
The thinking of such women baffles me. Why do we have to stomp on men to make ourselves look better?
Forget the typical male-bashing jokes… yeah, those ones will happen whether we like it or not. There are women who take it too far and will not leave a man standing with his dignity intact, who will not be satisfied unless she tramples on him and puts him under her thumb. It’s not about making him a doormat; it’s about the fact that she needs to make men look bad to feel good.
What happens to the man in your life if you keep treating the men around you like they’re nothing but whipping boys? Don’t you think this will sooner or later translate into your home? Your husband will just be another statistic and your son will grow up thinking that he’s worthless.
Being a proud woman does not mean you need to slay all those imaginary demons that are attached to men. The demons are probably in your head and you simply convinced yourself that all men are evil.
Reversed roles
The generalisation that all men are ‘messed up’ or will eventually ruin everything is subjective and misleading. What started as a quest for ‘equality’ in the name of feminism will sometimes land us in a world where we won’t know what to do with our men. We will have completely emasculated them to the point that women rule the world. Hold your horses…. I know women want to rule the world, but is that the ultimate universe that we want? Or will it end up being a reversal of roles and this time we will be the ones being bashed for having the upper hand?
Feminism is good, but with the right intentions. I try to remind myself that we cannot be ‘equal’, but we can have equal opportunities. Remember, we are the mothers, sisters, wives and friends of these same guys we bash. When we turn them into misogynists, who will be to blame?
