Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka has said he will retire and venture into farming if he is beaten in the next General Election.
Kalonzo said he has been in politics as a Member of Parliament for 27 uninterrupted years and he would retire into dairy and poultry production if he does not win the next elections.
“I am good hearted and if beaten I will venture into farming. I like dairy and poultry production because it is relaxing,” said Kalonzo.
At the same time, the VP said he does not see any reason why Kenyans sould not elect him the next president as he has vast experience in politics.
Kalonzo who took his campaigns to the North Rift region for the second time in less than a month to consolidate support said he is ready to provide quality leadership to the country if Kenyans give him a chance.
“I am ready to offer a leadership that will fight corruption and provide opportunities to Kenyans including women and children to prosper. Corruption is to blame for rampant poverty in the society,” said Kalonzo.
Kalonzo said he had been insulted enough times in his political career.
“During the run up to the last referendum, there was an intention to force me to declare ‘No’ for the Constitution. They knew if I had said ‘No’ I would have been forced to resign as a Vice President,” Kalonzo said.
He added: “They went ahead calling me names like watermelon but I kept quiet. The trend of political insults should come to an end.”
Meaningful change
He said he is working with likeminded leaders in the G7 Alliance, that include Eldoret North MP William Ruto and Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, to bring meaningful change in the country.
Kalonzo said they will campaign and support whoever will win the presidential nomination in the team.
The VP was speaking yesterday during Nandi North District Education Day at Kabiyet Secondary School in Mosop constituency.
