A presidential candidate from North Eastern will be on the ballot paper in next year’s General Elections.
Mr Jaffar Issack, 38, a businessman who served in the army for 10 years, said that it is time for the youth to take over leadership of the country.
Announcing his presidential bid yesterday at the Laico Regency Hotel in Nairobi, Issack, who was accompanied by his advisory team, pledged to set Kenya on a new path of economic and social prosperity.
He regretted that many decades after Independence, Kenyans were still suffering from hunger while the prices of essential commodities continued to rise.
The former military man said he will go for the top seat as an independent candidate and accused political parties of promoting ethnicity.
The clearing and forwarding businessman hails from the Gabbra community in Moyale County.
"I will be unveiling details of my campaign platform in the coming months as Kenyans familiarise themselves with me," he said. Issack’s advisory team includes political scientist Mr Onesmus Mungai among others.
