One of the actors of KTN's Mheshimiwa drama series was shot dead in a carjacking incident in Kiambu's Ruaka area and robbed of his car.Duncan Nyamari alias Alfayo, 25 who was a student at Strathmore University in Nairobi, was shot dead outside his parent’s residence as his mother, who is a police officer, watched.

He died on arrival at a local hospital. According to police and the family, Nyamari and some of his family members had arrived home from Nakuru on Thursday night when the gang struck.
Kiambu OCPD Samuel Mukinda said Nyamari was driving the family car at the time of the incident. The thugs were said to have laid an ambush near the gate.
His mother is a police officer based at Athi River Police Station but she was not armed at the time of the incident. Investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, the Standard Group through is Chairman and Chief Strategist Paul Melly sent a message of condolence to the family. He said the country had lost a promising actor and urged the police to speed investigations and arrest the culprits. Mheshimiwa, is a story that revolves around the lifestyles of local politicians. It is aired on Mondays at night.
In other news in Kiambu, police arrested a second suspect in connection with the killing of James Machua, a director of the land buying company Mbo-I-Kamiti.
The suspect is the wife of a former director at the company who is still being held over the murder. Police moved to court yesterday seeking permission to continue holding the former director Stephen Waweru and his wife. Machua was killed at a bus stop on Wednesday evening.
