"What on earth is a TVR?" Someone asks. "Google it," answers Big Kev, the MC at Undaground Festival. He then calls Altaf Abdalla to collect his trophy for Best Car Entry Undaground 2009. And in drives this little open roof posh sports car. All heads turn. Altaf’s Sh6 million TVR is the only of its kind in the country.

The customised TVR is a 2001 manufactured by an independent British manufacturer of sports cars based in Blackpool, Lancashire. The company manufactures lightweight sports cars with powerful engines and is the third-largest specialised sports car manufacturer in the world, offering a diverse range of coupÈs and convertibles.

TVR is the largest manufacturer of lightweight power engine sports cars.

Most TVR’s use an in-house straight-six cylinder engine design while others use an in-house V8. TVR sports cars are composed of tubular steel frames, cloaked in aggressive fiberglass body designs.

Seven facts about Altaf’s TVR

•The actual name given to the model is TVR Tuscan. It is a year of manufactureis 2001. The car is customized to the owner’s specifications making it different from any ordinary TVR model.

•The two-seater sport car comes with two doors. It is a convertible and has been manufactured using glass reinforcement polyester resin. It has a laminated tinted windscreen with frameless door windows and a removable roof panel.

•It has a beige leather interior with a purple carpet finish, an LCD display with aluminum dash finishes and controls.

•It also has an 18-inch spider TVR aluminum alloy wheels with 245/40 R 18 tyres.

•The engine is a straight six-cylinder alloy, 4200CC, 400BHP, EFI.

•It has a 4235 mm length, 1810 mm width 1200mm height and weighs 1000 Kg. The wheelbase is 2361MM.

•Its acceleration power is zero to 60MPH in four seconds, zero to 100 MPH in nine seconds.
