Radio personality Kamene Goro, who had taken a brief hiatus, is back. Reflecting on her one year in marriage, the NRG radio host likened her married life to a long-drawn dating experience.
She noted that both she and DJ Bonez, her husband, have grown closer over time, continually finding ways to spice up their union.
"Now I've been married for like a year. I thought it would feel different, but not really. It's just like some long-drawn dating. We don't stop dating each other, and we've become friends, which is something you need to look out for," Kamene said.
She added that they are taking things one day at a time and shared some advice for unmarried women.
Kamene Goro: I am not a husband snatcher
Prior to her wedding, Kamene was vocal about the type of men she would date, specifying preferences down to complexion and height. However, she now holds a different view, emphasizing the importance of friendship in marriage.
"Don't be falling for these ninjas you meet out here... That guy you put in the friend zone is probably gonna be the person you spend the rest of your life with. I'm just saying," she said.
Marriage is Worth it with the Right Partner
A month ago, Kamene looked back on the past year with gratitude, appreciating her husband for making their marriage worthwhile. She expressed her thankfulness on social media, acknowledging those who supported and encouraged them during challenging times.
"The thing about marriage is if you are lucky and blessed enough to find the right person, it's not easy, but it's totally worth it!
"To the man who dated me, courted me, and married me @deejaybonez254, may God always bless you and keep you. Thank you for making me your wife, for loving me, taking care of me, and most importantly, being my biggest supporter! I love you then, now, and always!" she wrote.
She also extended her gratitude to Mwasiaji and Jimy254 for their support, saying they served as perfect role models.
"May God always be with you and for you! And to all of our silent supporters, we love you so much, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!" she said.
