By Harold Odhiambo | August 24th 2021

A woman could be in trouble over allegations that she strangled another woman with a bra. Charged with three counts including assault and stealing, Jackline Anyango denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora.

Court was told that Anyango assaulted Vivian Adhiambo at Obunga Trading Centre on June 25. She slapped Adhiambo on the neck and took off her bra, which she used to strangle the accuser, leading to injuries. Five witnesses are set to testify against the suspect.

According to the charge sheet, Anyango is also accused of damaging a chair and radio belonging to Adhiambo and stealing a mobile phone valued at Sh15,500.

Anyango who had earlier told the court that her accuser had had threatened and vowed to bring her down, was released on Sh30,000 bond and advised to report to the police if she felt threatened. The case will be heard on September 26.
