The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has summoned nine public service vehicle (PSV) operators over serious safety concerns observed in their operations.
In a notice issued on Monday, August 31, 2026, the authority said the operators had been required to appear before it to address the concerns.
“In exercising its powers, the Authority has summoned a number of public service vehicle operators after observing serious safety concerns,” NTSA stated.
The affected transport companies and Saccos include long-distance and regional service providers operating across various parts of Kenya.
They are Moyale Raha Transporter’s Company Limited, Etams Classic Limited, Eastern Link Travellers Company Limited, Manchester Travellers Coach Limited, Lake Naivasha Maii-Mahiu Line Service Limited, Sabaki Travellers Saving and Credit Co-operative Society Limited, Lumasa County Sacco, Bluemarks Shuttles Sacco Limited and Nyamira Luxury Express Company Limited.
Moyale Raha Transporter’s Company Limited is required to appear before NTSA on September 3, 2026, while the other eight operators have been directed to appear on September 8.
The authority did not disclose the specific safety concerns or alleged violations involving the individual operators.
The summons come months after NTSA announced that it would continue inspecting commercial service vehicles at its centres.
In a June 26, 2026, notice, NTSA directed owners of commercial service vehicles to ensure their vehicles were roadworthy and had valid inspection stickers.
Law enforcement officers were also required to verify the stickers through the NTSA mobile application.
