Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has stepped in to help a former DJ who reportedly once worked with Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz after finding him living on the streets of Nairobi.
The man, identified as DJ Snatcher, was found along Mombasa Road near the Nyayo Stadium Roundabout in circumstances that left Mosiria concerned.
Mosiria was conducting a routine public safety exercise at the roundabout, where he was urging pedestrians to use the footbridge, when he noticed a man sleeping by the roadside.
He stopped to speak to him and establish his identity and how he had ended up on the streets. During their conversation, several passersby recognised the man and said he was a former DJ who had been active in the entertainment industry and had at one point worked with Diamond Platnumz.
Mnakumbuka the video of this man I posted last week?

Last week, while I was urging pedestrians to use the footbridge at the Nyayo Stadium Roundabout, I met this man sleeping by the roadside. I was worried because the place where he was sleeping was dangerous, so I woke him up… pic.twitter.com/Vjp2A6ZXbG

The discovery highlighted the striking contrast between Snatcher's reported past in the entertainment industry and his current circumstances.
Concerned about his wellbeing, Mosiria recorded the encounter and shared it on social media, appealing to Kenyans to help trace the man's family. His appeal eventually bore fruit.
On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Mosiria and Snatcher's mother traced him to the area around Nyayo Stadium Roundabout, leading to an emotional reunion after years apart.
According to his mother, she had spent four years searching for her son after he disappeared from Kiambu.
Her search took her to several places, including mortuaries, as she tried to establish what had happened to him.
“Mimi hakuna mortuary Nairobi hii sijakanyaga,” she said, explaining that she had visited numerous mortuaries in the city in the hope of finding her son.
After years of searching without success, the mother said she eventually gave up and left everything in God's hands, believing that if her son was still alive, they would eventually be reunited.
She also revealed that before mental health challenges disrupted his life, Snatcher had built a meaningful life.
He owned a car, tended a farm, had a wife and children, and was known as a driven and ambitious person.
The former DJ later moved to Meru with his wife, but his communication with his family gradually became inconsistent.
His mother said he sometimes stopped answering her calls, leaving the family increasingly worried about his whereabouts.
The mother eventually located him after seeing Mosiria's social media post seeking his family. She was overjoyed to finally see the son she had feared was dead and expressed gratitude to everyone who helped facilitate their reunion.
The team persuaded Snatcher to accept professional help and took him to Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital in Nairobi, where he will receive psychiatric care and treatment as he begins his recovery.
