Entrepreneur and social media personality Joseph Kairo Wambui, popularly known as Khalif Kairo, has completed his commercial pilot training and earned his commercial pilot licence.

Kairo announced the milestone on May 29 via X (formerly Twitter), saying he had met all required training milestones, accumulated the necessary flight hours, and passed his final practical examination at Flitestar Academy under instructor Captain Koros.

“All glory goes to GOD for helping me achieve my biggest life milestone. Special thanks to my family, friends and Flitestar Academy,” he wrote.

He shared photos marking the occasion, including one showing him receiving pilot epaulets beside an aircraft and another of him dressed in a white pilot shirt standing next to aircraft registration 5Y-SYR.

A commercial pilot licence typically requires around 200 to 250 total flight hours, depending on the country’s aviation authority, along with the completion of theory exams and a final practical flight test.

Kairo’s journey into aviation has spanned several years. He previously obtained his private pilot licence after completing theory exams and flight tests, and has publicly documented his progression through flight training, including accumulating significant flight hours as he advanced toward commercial certification.

Beyond aviation, Kairo is known as a businessman in the automotive industry. He rose to prominence through Kai & Karo Motors, a luxury car dealership brand, and has built a public profile as an entrepreneur and digital personality.

Born in Kawangware, Nairobi, Kairo has often described his rise in business as self-driven, supported at various points by family, including his late mother.

His career has also included public challenges, including business-related disputes and legal matters in recent years, some of which were later resolved.

His latest achievement has drawn congratulatory reactions online, with supporters praising his persistence and long-term commitment to completing pilot training despite setbacks in both business and personal life.
