The two-day event, co-chaired by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, represents a significant diplomatic milestone as the first Africa-France Summit hosted in a non-Francophone African country.
It is expected to attract more than 30 African heads of state, around 4,000 delegates, and leading figures from business and innovation sectors.
Discussions will focus on innovation, economic growth, sustainable partnerships, digital transformation, green industrialisation, energy transition, and reforms to the global financial system.
A major anticipated outcome is the adoption of the Nairobi Declaration, which will outline concrete commitments to deepen Africa-France cooperation.
President Ruto has positioned the summit as an opportunity for Africa to assert greater agency in its partnerships, shifting from traditional aid models towards equitable investment and technological collaboration.
The National Police Service Kenya has urged residents and motorists to plan their journeys carefully, utilise alternative routes, and allow extra time for travel during the summit.
