Flashy city preacher Reverend Lucy Natasha has indefinitely closed her church’s physical location in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

Natasha, the senior overseer of Empowerment Christian Church (ECC), announced that all ECC services will be conducted exclusively through the church’s online platforms until further notice.

Empowerment Christian Church has been operating from the 7th floor of Biashara Plaza, strategically located at the junction of Moi Avenue and Biashara Street.

The venue served as the church’s primary place of worship, attracting a largely youthful, urban congregation drawn from Nairobi and its environs.

In an official statement shared with congregants and followers on her Instagram page, Reverend Natasha emphasised that the ministry remains active despite the closure of the physical location.

“All services will remain online until further notice. Please stand with us in prayer as we transition toward our own God-ordained space. Let’s stay connected,” she stated.

The flashy preacher noted that the church is currently in a season of transition and prayer as it seeks a more permanent and suitable place of worship.

She reassured members that the shift to online services does not signal the end of the ministry but rather a temporary adjustment as the church navigates logistical and operational challenges.

Empowerment Christian Church has built a strong digital presence over the years, with thousands of followers across various social media platforms.

Through livestreamed sermons, online prayer sessions, and digital devotionals, ECC has consistently engaged its congregation beyond the walls of the church, a strategy that will now take center stage during this period.

The closure comes at a time when many urban churches are reassessing the sustainability of physical worship spaces amid rising operational costs and changing worship patterns, particularly in Nairobi’s CBD.

ECC joins a growing number of ministries that have embraced digital platforms as a primary means of reaching their congregations.

Despite the closure of the CBD venue, Reverend Natasha expressed confidence in the future of the church, describing the transition as part of a process leading toward expansion and stability.

ECC members have been encouraged to remain connected through the church’s official online channels as they await further communication regarding the ministry’s next steps and potential relocation.
