A Nairobi man was recently arraigned in court and charged with causing grievous bodily harm after allegedly attacking a boda boda rider he suspected of having an extramarital affair with his wife.

The rider, however, maintained that he was merely providing legitimate transport services to the woman.

The court heard that the accused person, Derrick Ochieng', viciously attacked a 21-year-old rider, James Mwangi, on December 23, 2025, in Dandora Phase 5.

According to court documents and police reports, the rider had been regularly ferrying the accused's wife from her home to various destinations.

This routine apparently fueled the husband's growing suspicions, leading to repeated accusations of infidelity.

On the day of the incident, the accused invited the rider to a meeting, ostensibly to "resolve their differences."
