Paramedic (and fire fighter!) Jeff Rehman has developed a way of trying to save your own life when you are choking and nobody else is around.

It's not so much a life hack, but more of a stay alive hack.

Jeff, who, as well as being a paramedic and a fire fighter, used to be a boxer in the 1980s, adapted the technique from an exercise he learned in his boxing days.

It involves getting into a press-up position and pulling your hands from underneath you so that you land on your abdomen and use your diaphragm to quickly push air up through your body.

If there is something lodged in your throat, it might just be a strong enough burst of air to dislodge whatever is in your throat.

Sadly, the bad news is that it won't work for pregnant women.

Stay safe out there, people!
