President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has celebrated her upcoming wedding with a colourful bridal shower attended by close friends as she prepares to marry Tanzanian entrepreneur Isaya Yunge.

Charlene shared photos and videos from the celebration on Instagram, giving her followers a glimpse of the garden setting decorated with flowers and pink-themed decorations. A welcome sign bearing the words, “Welcome to Charlene’s Bridal Shower”, completed the setup.

The gathering brought together women she described as having walked with her through different seasons of life, turning the occasion into a celebration of friendship and sisterhood.

In an emotional caption, Charlene thanked her friends for choosing to celebrate her as she prepares to begin married life.

“Grateful that the amazing women I have done life with over the years chose to celebrate me in my new season,” she wrote.

She also reflected on the values she hopes will guide her marriage, placing her Christian faith at the centre of the new chapter.

“Christ as our solid foundation and rock, the Word to guide my next step, the laughter and joy of sisterhood and knowing I have their love and support as I start to do life with the one He kept for me,” she added.

She concluded her message with an affectionate appreciation of her friends, referring to them as her “dadas” and “my girls”.

Charlene and Yunge made their relationship public before holding a traditional Kalenjin engagement ceremony, known as Koito, on August 8, 2026.

The lavish ceremony took place at President Ruto’s Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.

Yunge is a technology entrepreneur from Mwanza, Tanzania, and the founder and chief executive of SomaApps Technologies, a platform that connects African students with scholarship opportunities.

He has also founded KAYA, an artificial intelligence-powered smart speaker built around African languages and data, and Somafit, a health-monitoring smartwatch targeting the African market.
