Kenyan comedian and filmmaker Eddie Butita is set to premiere a new comedy series, Fundi Long Distance, featuring popular content creators Mjaka Mfine and Morin Actress.

Butita announced the project on Instagram, inviting fans to an exclusive watch party at Century Cinemax, Garden City, on Saturday, October 31, at 6pm.

“Wuuueh, this show is going to be amazing, if not the best. Niko na form… This Saturday, 6pm at Garden City Century Cinemax, join us for an exclusive watch party for our new comedy series FUNDI LONG DISTANCE,” he wrote.

The series explores the humour surrounding everyday Kenyan life, drawing on the experiences and challenges associated with the informal technical sector.

Mjaka Mfine and Morin Actress, both known for their online comedy content and relatable characters, lead the cast, with Butita steering the production.

Fundi Long Distance is produced by SPM Africa Studios in partnership with Mi Vida Homes, adding to Butita’s growing portfolio of projects beyond stand-up comedy and short-form digital content.

Following its cinema premiere, the series is expected to be available on YouTube through Eddie Butita TV, extending its reach to audiences unable to attend the screening.

Butita has built a career spanning stand-up comedy, digital content, writing and film production. He is also the founder of SPM Buzz, a digital media platform covering entertainment, celebrity news and pop culture.

The new project comes amid a growing shift among Kenyan digital creators towards longer-form productions that can reach audiences beyond social media platforms.
