Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has offered a glimpse into President William Ruto’s private life as a farmer, sharing videos of the Head of State personally showing him around his expansive farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
The videos, shared by Chivayo on social media, show him being driven around the property in a Mercedes-Benz G63 before being taken through Ruto’s cattle and crop farming operations.
Chivayo described Ruto as an “accomplished and passionate FARMER”, praising the scale and organisation of the President’s agricultural activities.
“Beyond being the President of the Republic of Kenya, President Ruto is an accomplished and passionate FARMER. From the beautiful macadamia plantations to maize production, cattle ranching with more than 3,000 sheep which, among other things, naturally help manage the grass around the macadamia tree," he wrote.

“Everything I saw reflected a different level of PLANNING, DISCIPLINE and result orientated PRODUCTIVITY. He spoke passionately about agriculture and FOOD SECURITY, and you immediately realise that this is not merely government policy to him, farming and feeding his nation is something he PRACTICES himself,” Chivayo added.
The Zimbabwean businessman also drew parallels between Ruto’s agricultural interests and President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s emphasis on farming and food security.
“In a similar spirit, His Excellency President E.D. Mnangagwa our Zimbabwe KING has also consistently emphasised agriculture and food security, encouraging practical farming, resilience, and national self-sufficiency as key pillars for safeguarding the future of his nation.
“From what I gathered, President Ruto’s farming interests extend across several farms, and the level of organisation is remarkable.”
In another video, Ruto was seen walking Chivayo around his cattle farm, where the President appeared interested in the welfare of the animals.
He was heard asking a farmhand whether the cows had been fed, while also explaining aspects of the farm’s production.
Chivayo said the experience left him particularly impressed by Ruto’s personal involvement in the projects.
“President Ruto is incredibly hardworking, hands-on and passionate about DEVELOPMENT. When you walk around a well-run farm and see how systematically everything has been put together, you begin to understand something about the mind behind it,” he wote.
The videos also highlight Chivayo’s apparent enjoyment of the trappings of presidential access.
From being chauffeured around the farm in a luxury G63 to receiving a personal tour of Ruto’s agricultural operations, the businessman appeared keen to document his proximity to the President and the privileges that came with the visit.
His latest posts offer another window into the private setting in which the businessman has interacted with Ruto, this time focusing on the President’s farming interests rather than his political role.
Ruto’s agricultural roots trace back to his youth selling chicken along the Eldoret-Malava road, a foundational experience that later defined his "hustler" political identity.
A University of Nairobi graduate in Botany and Plant Ecology, he served as Minister for Agriculture (2008–2010) before scaling massive commercial operations in Uasin Gishu.
Today, his expansive portfolio includes modern hatcheries, large-scale poultry production, and extensive avocado and maize farming.
