CS Murkomen hosts Embarambamba after passionate appeal with mud stunt

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has hosted controversial gospel musician Embarambamba at his office following the artist’s viral public appeal.

Murkomen shared photos of the meeting on social media, saying, “We continue to support the creative industry because it is a critical source of employment for many young people and a powerful tool for promoting positive change in society."

"This morning, I had the pleasure of meeting talented musician and comedian Christopher Nyangwara, alias Embarambamba, in the company of Kisii County MP Hon Doris Donya,” he added.

The meeting comes days after Embarambamba, born Christopher Nyangwara Mosioma, sparked widespread debate online with a bizarre stunt in which he lay in mud while dressed in a suit, calling out leaders he claimed were ignoring his phone calls.

In the now-viral video, the 38-year-old is seen completely covered in mud as he directly appeals to Murkomen and former Kisii Governor James Ongwae.

“Ongwae, Ongwae, ule alikuwa Governor wa Kisii, simu yako iko mteja… Simu yako ni mteja, Waziri wacha nikuite daddy, sikia sauti yangu… Murkomen simu yako ni mteja, Oscar Sudi nitafutie Murkomen mwambie simu yake ni mteja,” he says.

The stunt drew mixed reactions from netizens, ranging from amusement to concern, with some questioning both the intent and safety of the act, while others dismissed it as attention-seeking.

On Instagram, @nyokabikinuthia, commented, “very mud indeed”, @rosekitoe, posted, “Si matope itaingia kwa macho jamanii hehehe!! Hii sasa ndio ngani?” and @atambo commented, “Gaki enseye”.

Embarambamba, known for his theatrical stage antics and high-energy style, is no stranger to controversy, often using unconventional methods to capture public attention.
