Court charges six congregants caught 'sexing' in church

Six members of a city-based church linked to sexual immorality will now face charges of belonging to an illegal society. This is after the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) substituted in the initial terror charges they were facing.

The six were arrested following a tip-off that followers were being encouraged to engage in sex inside the church nestled between Uthiru Marigu-ini and Mabatini settlements.

Police swung into action after one Martha Mwihaki Hinga, a shadowy online whistle-blower, brought the matter to the public limelight. It was revealed that sex orgies choreographed as preaching sessions, were the main activity at the place of worship. Locals told police most of the followers were young men and women who were accused of dressing skimpily.

Now the DPP wants the main suspects who were each released on a Sh200,000 cash bail, charged with the offense of belonging to an unlawful society and leading an unlawful society. The suspects were first charged at the Kibra Court before the case was moved to Kawaha Court where they faced terror-related charges that were later dropped.

The church that teaches false gospel and teachings, tethers its teaching around Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

While in the church, followers are encouraged to freely have sex by being indoctrinated to believe that no man or woman belongs to a particular opposite gender.

“There is no taboo in the church, members sleep with anyone from the congregation, the church has no problem with gays or lesbians it’s a free and corrupted church,” said one of the police officers who investigated activities of the clandestine church.

The officer who requested anonymity said the church has branches in Ruiru, Molo, and Ongata Rongai where members engage in similar immorality.  

A man privy to happenings in the church told The Nairobian that it is the lead pastor who normally encourages members' immorality.

“While in the middle of the sermon the pastor directs his followers to start having sex; at this juncture, everything goes haywire as decorum is abandoned and sex orgies take centre stage,” said the man.
