He is arguably one of the best beat makers in the country, who has honed his skills as a producer and become a household name. Recently, Motif took to social media crying foul of a person that has been masquerading as him and deceiving innocent unknowing artistes.

“The other day I got a phone call from new number, the guy was frustrated “tuko kwa bus mbona hushiki simu” obviously I said it’s a wrong number but he insisted they’ve hired a bus to Nairobi for auditions at Motif Studio, washalipa registration fee,” he explained.

The con producer according to information shared shows that he goes by the name Motiff De Don and working at nonexistent ‘Blue-link studios’ as a music ‘producur’, notice the spelling.

“To cut long story short there is a conman that used my name to con artistes and is still doing it. I reported the matter to the police but no action was taken. Help me report those fake accounts,” said Motif.

The beats don believes the impostor is out here trying to make a quick buck in the expense of his well-engineered and highly sacrificed for career.

Motif recently revealed his rate card and called on artistes to ensure their works are up to standard.

“Let us take our productions to the next level. Do not blow your money on marketing a sh**ty done audio. Marketing an expensive video won’t save a song if it is not written well and properly mastered.”

His rates sparked different reactions from netizens, considering some services went up to Sh350,000. For that amount, artistes get special services such as audio and video production, analogue mixing and mastering, a songwriter, distribution, media training and bookings for interviews, a press kit and a photoshoot.
