Media personality Anita Nderu February 9 turned 31. In celebration, the Overdressed Cook show host took to social media to share a few life lessons she picked up in her 20’s to help netizens get through life easier.

Referring to a dated picture of herself, Anita described the 20’s as an experimental age. According to the former Capital FM radio host, individuals in the age bracket should not give into the societal pressure of having everything figured out and should allow themselves room to fail and learn.

“31! That is how old I turn today. I was make up new, style weird and in my early 20’s in this photo. This post is to let you know that your 20’s are for experimenting and you’ll equally be shocked by your decisions. However they could always be as amazing as what you see,” she began by saying.

Anita went on to give her fans a few tips that she feels have helped her appreciate life and people growing up. In her list, she urged netizens to embrace love and forgiveness, and if possible adopt a healthy vegan diet to keep their health in check.

“My advice? Not that I am an expert because my 20’s and early 30 was experimenting.com. Don’t wear blush like this or makeup in this way while on that, Forgive and forget, Love like the world is coming to an end, dress up! Always! Support always! F*ck up and learn from it. Eat prawns tempura! Also, try be vegetarian! It’s fun. Eyebrows are important, grow them. Always pick your parents calls. Dating in Nairobi is an extreme sport. I’ll keep updating this list,” she wrote.

Surprise birthday party

Can we really call it a birthday if Anita isn’t all glammed up? The bubbly personality was treated to a lavish birthday party by her friend and media personality Amina Abdi. Sharing the thought process with her fans on social media, Anita admitted to being taken aback by Amina and her friend’s kind gesture. “@aminaabdirabar called me weeks before my birthday and was like “Babe I know you love birthdays and you are extra, if you were to get the birthday of your dreams how extra would you want it?” I swear on Mary had a little lamb I told her things thinking we were joking around and only realized her and B were actually throwing what I can only call an event less than a couple of days to the day,” wrote Anita.
