Budding Shrap artist Kevin Munene aka Boutross recently revealed he quit partaking in cough syrup-drinking saying he has “kicked the double-cup lifestyle”.
In an in-depth interview with Dr Reign caught on camera, the ‘Mbona’ emcee revealed that he only did it out of peer pressure and partly due to hip hop reasons to stay relevant. “I used to be in the façade of having the double cup is cool when I was a youngin,” Boutross said. “I would say people I was around, ilikuwa inanipiga sana, but I think it was a phase for me,” he added.

The ADF vice president said that watching his role models portray a flashy lifestyle “on the sippy cup” and he just wanted to “look cool.” Interviewer Dr Reign got so immersed in the vulnerable convo and admitted his vice was “weed” aka “marijuana” back in the day in high school.
The artiste went further and disclosed that the effects of the unhealthy lifestyle led him to forfeit the codeine lifestyle. “As an artist, I would be on the stage and I was too chill, moody and in a depressed mode.” Artistes such as Juiceworld, Asap Yams, Lil Peep have all died by suicide due to the over-indulgence of the drug.
